Of course, we are also home schooling and still trying to unpack (as well as clean up our old house to sell it). Dustin has been busy with his job. Plus, I have been volunteering with the Praise and Worship Team at our church which has been such a blessing that even Dustin and my children have gotten to be involved with.
We, Dustin and I, have come to a realization, after a great deal of prayer and discussion, that we need to step down from our positions with Starved 4 Hope. While we holistically love the cause, believe in the mission, and obviously have a huge heart for Ethiopia, we no longer want to hold a position where we are responsible for making things happen, as we don't feel we have the time to devote to it, and we believe it would be a disservice to the children at Tullo and Warancha.
Thankfully, we are confident that the other S4H team members will continue to serve this organization just as they have been which has helped to make this transition a little easier for us. We also know that God will place the individuals He needs in the positions He needs them to accomplish His mission.
We feel so blessed to have been a part of the founding of Starved 4 Hope and to have been able to witness the individuals come together to serve with compassion and generosity in response to the needs of the children in Ethiopia. We look forward to witnessing how God will continue to work through this organization.
I know this decision may come as a shock or surprise to many of you, and we apologize for that; but, we honestly believe that God has a different plan for our lives. We know that He commands us to raise our children up to be arrows for Him, and that is our primary mission field; with six children that is a busy job :) We also want to be able to support our local community and any other area God lays on our heart.
Of course, we will continue to support the efforts at Tullo by continuing to sponsor our child, writing our child monthly, raising funds, praying for the children at Tullo, advocating for the vulnerable children of Ethiopia, and perhaps even going on a mission trip with the S4H team in the future; however, we will no longer be responsible for the administrative duties associated with S4H.
This has been a very difficult decision for us that we have weighed heavily, but we now have a peace about it; we are looking forward to the path God lays out for us.
