Tonight, when we came home, we saw that someone had stolen my three oldest children's bikes.

Obviously, Dustin and I were very upset about it, as well as, disappointed at the ethics of people (or lack there of) to take that which does not belong to them.

Fasika immediately said, "We should pray." So, the kids sat down on the couch and began praying. (I love that they know to turn to Him in all things). They began praying for the people that stole their bikes:

"God," Blake said, "I forgive them."

My eyes filled with tears. What beautiful hearts of mercy and forgiveness. Someone stole their bikes, and they weren't angry or wanting, they immediately forgave whoever it was holding no grudges.

"For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses." (Matthew 6:14-16)

We thank You, Lord, in all circumstances; let us never cease to praise Your name. Thank You Lord for the forgiveness You bestow upon us for all our shortcomings. Thank You for Your grace which You continue to pour over us though we are so undeserving. Thank You for the reminder and example of forgiveness witnessed through the pure hearts of my children.

"Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it." (Mark 10:15)

  1. That really stinks:( But oh so encouraging to hear their hearts!!
